The 7 JARS Innovation Challenge

The 7 JARS help you to come up with new ideas every day in less than 5 minutes a day.

JARS challenge

A simple method for innovation

The 7 JARS Challenge is a simple method to achieve innovation with only 5 min time per day. The 7 JARS Challenge helps you to go beyond your limiting thoughts, and come to a new mind-set and ideas.

The power of 5 minutes a day

The 7 Jars help you to come up with new ideas every day in less than 5 minutes a day.

Your first inspiration is almost never your best idea. And your 2nd idea is not either. Go for quantity and not for quality. Why? This prevents you from being creating and judging at the same time: these 2 do not go together so well. The art is to give yourself permission to come up with wild, crazy, nonsensical ideas. Just do it, nobody is watching. Come up with 10 new ideas every day.

Preparation

+ Find 7 empty jars, for each day of the week 1.

+ Agree with yourself a time when you can sit undisturbed for 10 minutes every day to face this challenge.

The 7 days program

  1. Monday - Think of 10 quality questions around an issue you want to work with. You can put these questions in the Monday jar. (If you sign up for the challenge I will send you a format for this in due course)
  2. Tuesday- Choose the best question from Monday's jar and think of 10 answers/ideas for this question and put it in the Tuesday jar.
  3. Wednesday - Read your chosen question again. Think again 10 crazy, fun, unusual solutions, ideas. Put these in the Wednesday jar.
  4. Thursday - Read your question again. Think of 10 new crazy, fun, unusual solutions, ideas. Put these in the Thursday jar.
  5. Friday - Read your question again. Think of 10 new crazy, fun, unusual solutions, ideas. Put these in the Friday jar.
  6. Saterday - Read your question again. Think of 10 new crazy, fun, unusual solutions, ideas. Put these in the Saturday jar.
  7. Sunday - Today we work 15 minutes instead of 5 minutes, because: get all your ideas out of the jars, be proud, you did a great job! Group your ideas by subject or category now. Name these categories. And then, only then do you judge on quality: Which idea do you find most exciting? Which idea is the most crazy? Which idea is the most original? What are your '3 killer ideas'?
